Contract Value – £225,000.00

In December 2009 Royce Group Ltd was awarded the contract to install VRF air conditioning in a new Metropolitan Police Facility to be built in Leyton, East London. Wates Construction was the main contractor and Briggs and Forrester Ltd were the principal M&E contractor.

The installation comprised seven large Mitsubishi Electric VRF systems connected to over 70 ducted fan coils.

Mitsubishi WR2 condensing units

The systems were the WR2 type and utilised Ground Source Heat Pump cooling via a borehole installation in the grounds of the facility. All systems offer full heat recovery and touchscreen control via the Mitsubishi AG150 controllers installed in the main plant room.

Several P series DX split systems were also installed in server rooms and CCTV suites, with air-cooled condensing units installed on a first-floor plant deck.

Also installed were Four large PUHY condensing units connected to four Exhaust Air Handling Units.

All aspects of the installation were carried out within the required programme and the Metropolitan Police took possession of the building in September 2010.
